The First Treatment — What to Expect:

In order to obtain a complete picture of your treatment needs, your first visit to Indigenous Medicine Therapies will likely entail a detailed look at the complex nature of who you are.

The first treatment consists of using a variety of diagnostic tools, such as taking the pulse, palpation of the body, observation of the tongue and sense organs, and reviewing detailed questions about your health history, desired outcomes of treatment and expectations.

Each appointment consists of receiving a treatment that may utilize healing modalities such as acupuncture, Oriental massage, reflexology, cupping, etc. Each technique will be thoroughly explained and demonstrated prior to your treatment. (Note that all acupuncture is performed using sterile, pre-packaged needles the width of a hair that are used one time only, and then properly disposed of.)

Once this baseline information-gathering and exam occurs at the initial appointment, follow-up appointments are generally one hour and 15 minutes long.
